Qualified Level 2 teacher and member of the institute of swimming, I have completed a BTEC national in sports science and an advanced apprenticeship in sporting excellence. I also have a level 3 certificate in higher sports leadership and a sports coach UK certificate in coaching disabled people in sport. Along with the qualifications I have gained which I feel has helped massively in being able to teach swimming to all ages and abilities. I was also a competitive swimmer, swimming at county, midland and national level.

I’ve been County and midland individual champion and also national champion as part of a relay team, representing Derbyshire’s elite swim Squad Derventio Excel, where I was also honoured to be the club captain until I retired from competitive swimming.

I feel that the experiences I have gained from my swimming background have had such a positive impact on my life and because of that, I enjoy being able to teach and encourage children in a sport that I love.
